Impairment Related Work Expense
Let's look at the next program, which is the Ticket to Work
and Self-Sufficiency Program. This is another work incentive
that is available to individuals that has only been around since
the Ticket to Work legislation was passed in 1999. This is
basically a vocational program. Like the Ticket to Work
program, it's designed to give the individual greater choice and
control in directing their rehabilitation and employment
process. Basically, what happened was the eligibility
beneficiary gets a ticket that they then can deposit with an
approved employment network. They can then access goods and
services that they need to reach their employment goal from that
employment network. The goal of this program is to give the
person greater choice and control.
